A good day of Natural Gas Futures Trading (NGJ3, KOLD, BOIL) Today was fun. Over the weekend Natural Gas went from 2.8 to 3.0 and then before trading hours Monday morning it continued to fall down to 2.7. I started the day holding $3,000 in BOIL and KOLD. Immediately at 6am I sold my BOIL since I was predicting the price would continue its trend down which it did. At 9:44am I predicted the price had bottomed out at 2.57ish. I sold there and took my KOLD gains. Then I bought back into BOIL. The price actually bottomed at 2.56 at noon before going back up to 2.602 to end the trading day.  Predictions and plans for tomorrow: I think it will bounce down to 2.5 overnight before it bounces back to 2.8 or 2.9 tomorrow. In the morning the price will hopefully be on the rise, so I will drop my KOLD and enjoy the ride up! I will sell BOIL when Nat Gas reaches 2.8ish and starts to show signs of losing momentum.

Today was a boring trading day. I didn't trade much natural gas because I wasn't really sure what the price was going to do. I did bet on WTI Crude Oil today but only with a few hundred dollars and that didn't really do much. I am happy to have a boring day compared to a big loss day though! Tomorrow's Plan I ended my trading day by purchasing $1,900 in BOIL and $2,700 in KOLD with the intent on selling the KOLD when I expect the price to bottom out between 4am and 10am. My hope is that the KOLD will earn me a little over-night. I will then hold my BOIL throughout the day as it gains in price with the intent to sell between 12pm and 3pm when I expect it to top out.

3/1/23 - Energy Market Trading Journal - Gain of $200 / 6%

Thoughts on the day and my performance Today took a bit of courage. From 7:30am through 8:15am NG dropped from 2.77 to 2.66. I started the day holding 225 shares ($1,500) in BOIL. At 8:15am I was negative $115 dollars on the day. I thought about selling to prevent further loss but I'm glad I didn't. at 8:58am I noticed the price going backup, and purchased 250 more shares of BOIl. At 1pm the price of NG (NGJ3) hit 2.8 before dropping to 2.74 in under 5 minutes, and then popping back up to 2.8 by 1:10pm. It's at this level that I sold at 1:15pm and ended my day of trading Natural Gas. The price peaked at 1:35pm at 2.83 before dropping back to 2.78 as I write this at 6:45pm. I am proud of myself for not selling when I was at negative 115 dollars in the morning. I'm also happy with where I bought in with more stocks, and I'm happy where I sold-- pretty close to the top. The day could not have gone much better. Thoughts on Natural Gas Performance Today was the first day

Really bad day today! No time to post details though. Edit 3-1-23: Got some time now.. So what happened is the day started off in the pre-trading hours trending down. This trend downward made me think that it would be a bearish day-- and it was a bearish day until it wasn't. Between 11am and 1pm Natural Gas Futures (NGJ3) shot up from 2.62 to 2.73. The result is that I was negative 360 on the day.
